i'm totally bushed. it's been one hectic day. there's still a lot of things that need to be done, yet nothing to get my mind off of this frustration for just one second. i seriously need a healthy escapism. or else i'm going insane.
it's hard to maintain two journals at the same time. i want to repost here all the entries i've written on my lj but too lazy. will still be using both services but have to rethink what to use each one for.
anyways...
watching the third episode of this cycle of america's next top model, i can't help but lament over megan's unfair elimination. if i could have my way, i'd defintely kick eugena out instead of her. i mean, eugena can't f-ing model to save her life. her shot was so amateurish and she had this i-know-it-all-and-am-better-than-you attitude. bad. megan, on the other hand, kicks so much ass. her last shot may not be the best picture in the bunch. but! she's so sweet. she seems like a really genuine person, has a nice body, and is so much better-looking than eugena. the judges really got that one wrong. gah.
the last makeover, i'd say, isn't as interesting as it was in the last cycle. but hey, they guy who did the girls' hair is master stylist frederic fekkai. no one argues with his talent in hairstyling. the one who got the coolest hair cuts are, in my opinion, megan, aj, and jaeda (short hair all the way, baby. woohoo!). megan... oh man. somehow she turned into this female version of jonathan rhys-meyers. sooo hot. and then aj...are you serious? she looks so much hotter with that 1992 linda evangelista hair than the one she sported before. gotta love the new look. jaeda's as hot as halle berry with that hair. caridee and brooke just get prettier and sexier. melrose looks like caridee. michelle's makeover is alright. amanda looks amazing with the iron-straight long locks. monique's is okay. megg looks like shakira with that wavy long hair but it works for her. anchal's is great. eugena's? well it's better than before. whatever.
i love this cycle of antm.
i recently found a new love for another reality show, project runway. it's a very interesting show. i can't believe i've only watched it for a few weeks in a row. i think, even if you're not into fashion design, you'll still find it engaging. and for the fashion & fashion design lovers, it's a show they won't want to miss. i've watched the last half of season 3 and the last episode of season 1 and from what little i've seen of the show, the designers who got to be the final three/four really deserved it. i love seeing all their collections in the final runway shows. the final four of the last season--jeffrey sebelia, ulrike herzner, laura bennett, and michael knight--all had their personal touch in their collections that make it so hard to pick just one favorite. i like at least a few pieces of each of the designers' collections. but if i really have to choose, i'd personally love it for uli to be the winner because of her ability in working with prints and colors (my penchant!). the judges (heidi klum, michael kors, and nina garcia) and mentor tim gunn are great. at least they aren't as biased as the judges from america's next top model. the bottomline is: i'm addicted to the show. hope jaktv or discovery travel & living would run the episodes from all 3 seasons so i can watch the ones i missed.
this is a picture of paula sleeping with my stuffed baby simba & nala from the lion king on my bed. she looks like a stuffed kitty, especially with the half-closed eyes, in the pic, don't you think? my brother took this a few days ago and i smiled when i saw it. :)
so yesterday i went to dog show 2006 at jiexpo in arena prj, kemayoran. it's a place where dog breeders and enthusiasts from all over indonesia come to showcase their best dogs and compete in a show. i saw many familiar and not-so-familiar looking dogs there. there were labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, samoyeds, cocker spaniels, scottish terriers, collies, shetland sheepdogs, weimaraners, siberian huskies, malteses, shih tzus, bulldogs, chihuahuas, pomeranians, pekingeses, miniature pinschers, dachshunds, st. bernards, dalmatians, great danes, poodles, doberman pinschers, rhodesian ridgebacks, chow chows, and many more that i don't remember. there were supposed to be german shepherds and rottweilers as well but they got omitted from the show due to some schedule problems.
when i got to the place, they were in the middle of showcasing labrador retrievers in one of the rings. labrador retriever is one dog breed that i'd love to have if i ever got the chance to keep one as a pet. so i rushed to the ring to find a better view of the dogs. boy was i pleased. the dogs were so beautiful. they had big bodies, shiny coats (mostly in black, only one in cream, and none in chocolate) and all were pleasant-looking. i wanted to buy one right then and there. but i didn't of course.
i also saw a scottish terrier and a cocker spaniel in the flesh for the very first time. soooo adorable. i didn't know those dogs were that small as adults. you'd think from watching the walt disney classic lady and the tramp that a cocker spaniel is at least as big as a pomeranian. but no, it is not. it's so tiny that even a petite person like me could carry one in the arms. i guess dogs of small breeds such as the scottish terrier and the cocker spaniel are more suitable to me than ones of larger breeds such as labrador retriever. i've always wanted a lab tho.
on the way home, i heard on the radio that cat exhibiton is coming up this friday. i'm so looking forward to that.
at last! my thesis proposal on law enforcement efforts to halt the illegal international trade in tiger and tiger parts and derivatives is done. those two stressful days i spent finishing it was worth it. yesterday i handed in my proposal and now i just need to wait for my session with the lecturers. hope everything works just fine because i want nothing more than to leave this university ASAP.
looking at the photo gallery for the movie the jungle book on imdb makes me want to watch the movie really bad. i mean, just look at the pictures below. beautiful cats + classic b&w picture is a combo that can't be beat. i wonder if i can find the dvd here in jakarta. i'd definitely buy it if i see one.
